Are Federal Student Loans Causing College Tuition Rates to Rise? Data Analysis

This is a Data Analysis Project that was created to help visualize whether or not we can claim Federal Student Aid is to blame for the rising costs of college tuition.

There is often much discussion about this (a lot of which is political, but I won't go into that here), so I

figured it would be interesting to gather data and see if I can unearth some information. I downloaded data from the National Center for Education Statistics; average federal student aid, average public tuition for undergaduate students, and average private tuition for undergraduate students.

I imported the data into SQL, where I merged the tables together side by side to give us a clear view. I also ran queries and created tables to demonstrate the year over year increase for loans, public tuition, and private tuition.

Finally, I exported the SQL queries as individual tables to visualize them for data visualization software. Namely, Tableau and PowerBI.
